Have you thought of adding a garden pod at the back of your garden? The area you rarely use? A garden pod isn’t just a great financial investment but a lifestyle benefit too. Here is how it benefited our lives and became an increasingly useful extra space.
Last year, we had an idea to landscape the garden and add a garden room to use as an office or a cycle studio. Living in a flat in London meant training early in the mornings for a cycling event on a turbo could be an interesting wake up call for our downstairs neighbours.
This is what the garden looked like 2 years ago

We decided to transform the garden and add a garden pod, that can easily be changed to a spare office for work or a cycle studio. Working relentlessly cutting trees down, levelling the garden floor was the hard part.
The pod stands as a main feature in the back of our garden. Koyda Pods are not built with wooden structures, like many others on the market, therefore withstands the elements of mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
It is extremely easy to clean and maintain, also highly energy sufficient for its multifunctional use. This was one of the best investments we made, it enhanced our lifestyle, helped our relationship and increased our property value.
We look to enjoy this view and our garden pod for the rest of our lives.

The floor needed to be levelled, and four simple concrete foundation pads were dug, to Koyda’s specification to support the steel structured pod.
Once the foundations were done, the steel structured pod was built in no time. It has the same elements as an insulated home. Koyda Pods uses structural insulated panels that have thermal abilities and are guaranteed to last for up to 40 years.

We have been enjoying the extra space and the added freedom it has given us, transforming our property with an additional room and raising its value by around 7%-10%.
The finished pod equipped with all the tools to survive a lockdown.

Earlier this year when the sudden an unexpected pandemic struck, and the breakout of Covid-19 meant we were faced with being in lockdown in our homes, just like everyone else around the world, it was a godsend to have this garden pod; my husband was able to separate his home and work and worked in the pod most days overlooking the beautifully landscaped, peaceful garden. I was able to do my virtual exercise classes as well as exercising with friends over Zoom. At the weekends the pod turned into a cycling and yoga studio. We ended up working out a lot more and having an even healthier lifestyle, despite the lockdown measures.

As you can see the pod sits perfectly within the existing garden, integrated with the old shed which we thought would add a nordic look. Koyda pods use non combustable materials which means that the buildings can be situated tight up to the garden boundary, unlike timber structured buildings. This really maximises the city garden space which comes at a premium.

As you can see, even our cat loves spending time there.

For summer evenings

And for a serious work station / studio

Koyda Pods are the highest quality garden pods on the market, using steel structures and advanced insulated panel technology with environmentally friendly credentials.
