What can I use a garden Pod for?

Koyda Pods are versatile, whether it’s for an office, your own private cinema room, exercise room, kids’ playroom or just an extra room to add to your home.

How does it work?

Once you’ve decided which Pod you like, please call or email us. We will send you a written confirmation with a proposal detailing your requirements. We require a 50% deposit to proceed with the works and full payment on completion. Your dream garden Pod will be built either on site or delivered in modular sections to your home within 3 weeks so you can enjoy that extra space in no time.

Do I need planning permission?

No, you don’t need planning permission if you choose any of our Tromso, Bergen or Stavanger Pods. If you choose to go for a bespoke size, you may require planning permission.

Does the ground need to have the right foundations to hold a Pod?

Yes, it does. Our Pods need to have solid foundations; However, they are designed with a rigid steel structure, significantly minimalizing the number of foundations required.  If you don’t have this currently, don’t worry, we can create the foundations for you at a minimal additional cost.

What sizes are available and what are the costs?

Koyda Pods come in 3 sizes:

Trømso           3.2m x 3.2m    9m2 internal space   £24,400

Bergen            5m x 3.2m    16m2   £28,320

Stavanger       7m  x 3.2m  22m2   £34,200

Can I have a bespoke size Pod?

Whilst we recommend these 3 main sizes, we are able to design and build any sized Pods. The cost of these may vary depending on the requirements.

Why are they named after Norwegian places?

Koyda Pods was inspired by some of the buildings and construction methods observed during the research and development phase of our Pods. We are also currently developing sauna Pods.

Can we change these Pods to a wooden structure?

No, we offer a uniquely sustainable solution that lasts longer than wooden Pods. Timber has a tendency to warp, discolor and rot and we believe that it shouldn’t form the main part of any structure. However decorative timber panels of varied species of wood can be arranged in panel form which is easily interchangeable without compromising the integrity of the structure.

What is the structure of Koyda Pods?

Koyda Pods are made using a rigid steel structure.

What type of panels do you use?

We use architectural wall panels with the highest quality insulation and future proof design guaranteed to last. A detailed description of these wall panels is available under the Building envelope section.

What do you mean by future proof design?

The Pod has been designed with the ability to make changes to the external look by adding or replacing decorative timber panels. These changes will not affect the structure of the Pod. Allowing you to create a more modern look as trends and designs change without compromising any of the structure or its features.

What type of doors and windows used?

Our windows and doors are Schüco products, offer the highest quality, manufactured in the midlands, UK.  They have unrivaled insulation and security credentials, not to mention their cutting edge designs.

How long does it take to build a Pod?

We look to build it within 3 weeks.

How do we heat the Pod?

Good quality electric heaters can be installed.

What is the cost of delivery?

Depends on your location and access to your property, this will be advised on your confirmation.

How long does the Pod last?

Koyda Pods are built to last. We guarantee up to 40 years.

Most manufacturers guarantee only 10 years, how do you have such a long guarantee?

We trust the structures we put in place and materials we use will last you 40 years and longer.

Can I move the Pod to another location later on?

Yes, the Pod is designed to be lifted and moved, subject to access to your garden. They are designed to future proof your investment.
